I am currently Licensed as a mental health counselor  in Texas (LPC, MC) and currently a therapist with Geode/MindMatters Psychiatry/Psychotherapy Services in Frisco, Texas.  In addition, Fitness/Life coaching has been an endeavor close to my heart throughout the years.  I have served as a Clinical Supervisor for Utah's Juvenile Justice Services and Program Administrator for Utah’s Juvenile Competence Attainment Provider Program (Forensics) and had my own private practice as a therapist in the downtown Salt Lake City Area (2019 - 2021).  I have obtained extensive experience as a therapist (10 years).  My background in education, law enforcement and mental health allow me to assist my clients through many obstacles in their lives.   My diverse positions within law enforcement, in different capacities and extensive experience in dealing with both victims and offenders (both juvenile and adult) involved with the criminal justice system has taught me very many things about humanity. I have helped individuals shine light in their darkest moments of life. I have also served as a Forensic Interviewer for children while working as a police detective with Crimes Against Children for the El Paso Police Department in El Paso, Texas. I have interviewed over 1000+ children (victims, witnesses, and accused) of abuse during the time I worked as a detective for this unit. I have also interviewed both children/adolescent and adult offenders on these cases. I have helped victims (both children and adults) of sexual assaults, home invasions, kidnappings, human trafficking, aggravated assaults, homicides, suicides and much more while working also as a Detective for Crimes Against Persons/Homicide Unit in El Paso, Texas.  In addition to my law enforcement background, I was also a Middle School Gifted and Talented teacher and worked with Dyslexic Children as well.  I obtained her B.A. in Psychology/Minor in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at El Paso in 2001. Obtained a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from University of Phoenix in New Mexico in 2007.  I have taught at higher education institutions for approximately six years in subjects such as Lifespan Human Developmental Psychology, Theories of Personality, General Psychology and Social Psychology. I find happiness in empowering my clients and students.  I assist both clients and students in finding themselves by using an eclectic approach, trauma-informed approach, client centered, evidence-based counseling techniques and educational pedagogy.  I find fulfillment in helping others work through past and current issues along with identifying strategies that will help in coping with current hardships.  My background has granted me the ability to work with diversity in whichever community I involve myself with - in both clinical and educational levels. I believe strongly in the power of positive affirmations/positive psychology and the power of being able to choose better and more positive paths in  life.
